Senior Sales Engineer Amsterdam
What You’ll Do
As our Senior Sales Engineer, you will be at the forefront of expanding MX3D’s revolutionary offerings. From forging new client relationships to closing pivotal deals and growing current accounts, you’ll champion our core product line: M1 / MX Metal AM Systems, our leading-edge, turnkey robotic 3D metal printing platforms.
Your responsibilities will include
-Building and nurturing strong relationships with industrial clients
-Leading a customer-centric sales journey that delivers win-win outcomes
-Evaluating requirements/RFQ’s/Tenders and discussing solutions with customers
-Crafting bespoke quotes and service offerings
-Representing MX3D at major international events, conferences, and expos
-Monitoring, analyzing, and refining sales data to optimize your strategy
-Reporting directly to the CCO
What You Bring
-A degree in Engineering, Business, or a closely related discipline (an Engineering background is preferred)
-A degree in Material Science or experience in the metals industry is a strong advantage
-Demonstrated success and minimum 5 years, preferably 7+ years in Machine Sales—ideally in sectors like energy, manufacturing, or high-tech
-An unwavering focus on customer needs, adeptness at closing deals, and a knack for cultivating long-term relationships
-A creative, proactive mindset paired with excellent communication skills
-Ability to thrive in an international, fast-paced high-tech environment
-Entrepreneurial energy and enthusiasm for working in a growing scale-up
-Based in—or willing to relocate to—the Netherlands, plus an EU passport or valid Dutch work permit

De Functie: Service Engineer
We zoeken een praktische, gemotiveerde service technicus ter ondersteuning van onze groeiende activiteiten in de MX3D-werkplaats, met ~15 robotsystemen in een productieomgeving. Deze functie is geschikt voor een technisch opgeleide engineer met een praktische instelling, die graag leert, problemen oplost en robotische lassystemen opzet en onderhoudt.
Deze rol is werkplaats gebonden en omvat ondersteuning van alle technische aspecten van onze interne productie- en ontwikkelactiviteiten. Je werkt nauw samen met ons deployment- en engineering team en leert geleidelijk zelfstandig de werkplaats draaiende te houden.
Jouw Profiel
Wij zoeken iemand die:
-Een MBO-opleiding in een technische richting heeft afgerond (bijv. Mechatronica, Elektrotechniek, Industriële Techniek); HBO’ers met een praktische instelling zijn ook welkom
-Praktisch en hands-on is met een proactieve houding
-Handig is met gereedschap en lichte elektrotechniek (of bereid is dit te leren)
-Georganiseerd, betrouwbaar en zelfstandig is
-In staat is om meerdere kleine projecten tegelijkertijd te ondersteunen
-Vloeiend Engels spreekt (Nederlands is een pluspunt)
Pre’s / Bonus Vaardigheden
-Ervaring met technische tekeningen of bedradingsschema’s
-Bekendheid met robotsystemen (ABB of KUKA)
-Achtergrond in werkplaats- of technische ondersteuning
Verantwoordelijkheden
Je bent verantwoordelijk voor belangrijke taken in de werkplaats, zoals:
-Het operationeel, geordend en betrouwbaar houden van de MX3D-werkplaats
-Het oplossen van mechanische en elektrische storingen
-Het bedraden, assembleren en onderhouden van robotische printsysteem
-Ondersteuning bij lopende en aankomende print projecten en installaties
-Fungeren als interne technicus

The Role: Service Engineer
We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Service Technician to support our growing operations in the MX3D workshop, including ~15 robotic systems in a manufacturing facility. This role is suited to a technical engineer with a practical mindset, who enjoys learning, problem-solving, and setting up and maintaining robotic welding systems.
This position is workshop-based and involves supporting all technical aspects of our in-house manufacturing/production and development activities. You’ll work closely with our deployment and engineering teams and gradually learn how to keep the workshop up and running independently.
Responsibilities
You will take ownership of key workshop tasks, such as:
– Keeping the MX3D workshop operational, organised and reliable
– Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
– Wiring, assembling and maintaining robotic printing systems
– Supporting ongoing and upcoming MX3D printing projects and deployments
– Acting as the in-house technician
Your Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
– MBO-level trained in a technical field (e.g., Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology); HBO-level with a hands-on mindset is also welcome
– Handson and practical, with a proactive attitude
– Comfortable working with tools and light electrical work (or willing to learn)
– Organized, reliable, and able to take initiative
– Capable of supporting multiple small projects at the same time
– Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
Bonus Skills
– Experience with technical drawings or wiring diagrams
– Familiarity with robotic systems (ABB or KUKA)
– Workshop or technical support background

MX3D is looking for hands-on Welding or WAAM Engineers to complete our team that is responsible for realizing robotically 3D printed projects using power sources like Fronius CMT and similar machines.
Although the current job is most suitable for junior profiles, all welding specialists are requested to send in their resumes as we expect to grow fast and will most likely open more senior positions soon.

MX3D is an ambitious scale-up that revolutionized robotic 3D metal printing.
We brought Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) and its market to life and made 3D metal printing more flexible, faster, and certified. MX3D became the innovation leader in 3D metal printing by presenting its jaw-dropping 12 meters long fully functional 3D printed stainless steel pedestrian bridge, now open to the public in the Amsterdam city center.
What you are going to do:
– Define welding or deposit parameter sets for printing based on customer requirements and relevant standards
– Toolpath generation with our MetalXL software
– Keeping an eye on the printing progress
– Report after printing
– Discuss material and mechanical tests with specialised agencies
– Be a source of information for our development team: tell them how we can make our technology even better
What you offer:
– Relevant degree in mechanical engineering
– Experience with welding or a master with a welding specialism
– You like to lead by example and you are pragmatic when necessary
– Focused, target-orientated and customer-centric
